Message
FINDING BALANCE FOR A BETTER FEDERATION

The mission of IFALPA is to
promote the highest level of
aviation safety worldwide and
to be the global advocate of the
piloting profession; providing
representation, services, and
support to both our members
and the aviation industry.
“The engine is the heart of an
airplane, but the pilot is its soul,”
wrote Sir Walter Alexander Raleigh
in 1922. I tend to take the same
view of our beloved Federation.
The brilliant work and continued
success of our Technical team and
Committees propels us forward,
keeps us moving, and forms the
lifeblood of IFALPA. The industrial/
labour side of the Federation con-
nects us to our fellow pilots and
unites us in shared experience,
needs, and goals.
The balance of heart and soul are
as important in an organization as
in an individual. It is that balance
that we are working towards here
at IFALPA. Under the new leader-
ship goals, IFALPA will combine our
different competencies in Subject
Matter Expertise, technical, industri-
al, geographic, and cultural knowl-
edge to tailor our projects and
campaigns for maximum efficiency.
The focus is on integrating previ-
ously disparate branches of the
organization with respect, dignity,
and shared resources for the con-
tinued mission of serving you, the
pilots of our member associations.
